LOCAL ANESTHESIA AND EXODONTIA [OSRG 211]

Local Anesthesia & Exodontia course in dental program is to teach the students about the basics of anatomy and physiology of nerve conduction, pain pathways and the role of anesthetic agents in blocking the conduction of the nerve impulses. The pharmacology of local anesthetic agents, their local and systemic dose related actions and different maxillary and mandibular anesthetic technique will be taught here. The knowledge of basics principle of minor oral surgery(extraction of teeth), the armamentarium, technique and complications  is necessary for students to start doing the clinical work in subsequent courses of oral surgery.

With the view that this course will impart the basic knowledge required to perform the minor surgical procedure in oral surgery, the content here is accordingly structured.
