CLINICAL MICROBIOLOGY [MICR 421]

The oral microbiology course will emphasize and reinforce the earlier Microbiology 211 course and other related basic biologic and clinical science disciplines with particular attention given to their meaningful correlation.  The major topics covered in this course will be:  the primary oral infections including dental caries and periodontal disease, systemic infections with oral manifestations, infective diseases of occupational and personal concern, and diagnostic, treatment and preventive aspect of these diseases.
