Dr. RASHAD HASSAN HABIBULLA KASHGARI, F.R.C.S (Glasgow), Dean of Ibn Sina National College for Medical Studies, Jeddah.
Born in January 1954, Dr. Rashad went on to become a proud product of the Kingdom’s first medical school at King Saud University, Riyadh, from amongst the first batch of Saudi doctors graduated from within the kingdom, Dr. Rashad has been a surgeon of exceptional skills and a teacher at heart for over 20 years. A fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Glasgow stands in testimony for his ability and achievements as a consultant surgeon. Prestigious positions such as the chairmanship of the department of surgery at the faculty of medicine, King Abdul Aziz University, Jeddah and the Presidency of Saudi General Surgery Society further highlight his distinguished career. To Ibn Sina National College, he brings with him the rich expertise of skillful practice of his field and the vast experience of training the graduate and post graduate students
Intensive training from the UK and Germany for over 5 years not only carved a fine surgeon out of him but also brought to the fore his leadership and innovative traits, which he demonstrated amply in all his postings. He has been contributing to the teaching of medicine at the King Abdul Aziz University, Jeddah from 1984 and has acquired exemplary skills of administration and team work.
Dr. Rashad has been the examiner of Arab Board of Surgery and Saudi Board ofSurgery for years now that he is competent to evaluate medical curricula. His intimate understanding of medical education has played a dominant role in the genesis of Ibn Sina College. This college in its formative years has plenty to gain from a visionary like Dr. Rashad and his penchant for originality and innovation will indeed be a boon to one and all in this institution.
